Cathedral Caverns

Last Friday, the second grade went on a field trip to Cathedral Caverns.  It was so fun!!! We got to get rocks in a bucket.  I have no idea how those big rocks got through those tiny holes.  Now I want to talk about the cave.  The cave was not so dark but it was fun.  I like when the man showed us that cute little bat and he called it a "chicken nugget bat".  I liked when he talked about that acorn from Ice Age.  He heard a noise.  What could it be?  This was a very fun field trip and I hope I can do it again.

Pajama Day

Did you know that Ben Davis was having a pajama day! Its called D.E.A.R.  It means "Drop Everything and Read". It is on Friday,April 12-all day! This is a way to celebrate reading! Beverly Cleary's birthday is on April 12 and that is why we are celebrating too.  I think it will be super, nice, and exciting!

The Propst/Burton Class Play.

I loved the play I thought Connor was very funny. I liked Parker`s character. I liked the "Fifty Nifty" song . The play was about aliens. Do they find a new home? Ask your child to find out.

D.E.A.R.

This Friday is "DEAR Day". DEAR stands for "drop everthing and read". We get to wear pajamas and read ALL day. Also the Davis/Coon/Watkins class play is on that day.

This Friday is the Watkins/Davis/Coon play called "Arf".  There is a message and it says the world Chester Dog Show is coming to doggie town.  Rover the dog has a hidden talent .  Find out what it is this Friday!!

Mile Run

The Mile Run was really fun but tiring! My time was 10:20.  The Mile Run felt like it was two and a half miles!!  I can't wait to do the Mile Run again next year.  I am going to try and beat my score.

In the mile run people fell. The first graders raced, then the 2nd graders raced and then 3nd graders. It was hard but everyone kept trying and they got the race done.

The mile run was for the first  and second graders at Ben Davis. Jojo Willams came in first place. My sister Chloe Keenum was the second girl to finish in the race. The first one to finish in the second grade was Bo Belcher. The second person to finish was Mac Ethredge. He came in first last year. After the race we stayed, ate popcicles, and cheered the third grade on. THE END

At the the mile run, we cheered on the first graders. Karokus came in first place for the first graders. Then it was the  second graders' turn. I came in 7th place in my class. I crossed the finish line in 10 minutes and 59 seconds.I  got a medal. We had gatorade and chips.

The Mile Run was so fun everyone had a great time plus everyone did a good job. After that, we ate popcicles, chips, and had a drink.  We could have either water or gatorade.  I loved the Mile Run. I had a good time.

I ran the mile run.  I loved the Mile Run. I ran my mile in 10:00 minutes and 28 seconds. I thought the Mile Run was fun. What did you think of the Mile Run? I hope I can run it next year.

No Shoes Day!!!

Students at Ben Davis had to pay if they wanted to take their shoes off in appropriate places . They had to pay one dollar . It was on April 5th.

There was a "no shoes day" at Ben Davis. You had to pay $1.00 to take them off, but you had to wear them in the cafeteria and bathroom. It was very fun.

You had to pay a dollar to not wear shoes on April 5th. The office announced out that you have to wear shoes in the lunch room but it was awwwwwwwwwwwwwwsome!
